accelerometer presence

Hi all:

Is there any way to detect presence of an accelerometer connected to a NI-PCI-4472?

I have posted an entry about it in the labview forum, I think this place is best for that.

Thanks for your help,

not a bright idea, but worth experimenting Smiley Wink

Measure an open channel value, save it, do a measurement with an acclerometer connected and compare it with open voltage measurement.
would not a drastic change indicate an acclerometer (or some sensor) connected??

Talking to NI support, they have given me an idea to try.

They have said to start measure in DC coupling, and check the voltage read. It should be (Current excitation value times accelerometer impedance)

If no accelerometer is connected, this measure should be zero or little offset, or something very different.

I can't try it until next monday, as the system is installed on field, and I'll be out of office.

Try it, or wait my reply next week

Thanks to all,
Aitortxo.
