Windows NT and ISA Bus Address Problem

I have just put an AT-MIO-16XE-50 (plus a SCXI 1000/1303) into a DELL PC that runs Windows NT. I loaded NI-DAQ and then installed pnpisa.inf and then plugged the board into (the one and only) ISA slot. When I restarted Windows NT it found the board and when I went to MAX the board showed up as a Device, however, there was no I/O Range, IRQ, nor DMA assignments. The NI documents then says that I have to enter this data manually, however, I do not know what these number should be, and when I go to the Windows Utility which shows me Device Info the DAQ board does not appear. How can I find the I/O Range, IRQ, and DMA data that I need?

There are several different reasons that will cause NT not to assign resources. The AT-MIO-16XE-50 is a pnp isa device and you shouldn't have to assign the resources manually. Here are a few links from National Instruments web site that might help you find the problem.

These are the most common problems and solutions. Also don't forget to refresh MAX everytime you change something, by pressing F5.

I hope this helps.

I had followed all of these instructions & the DAQ was DETECTED fine. I still had to manually assign resources to it under NT. It eventually worked. I now need to reinstall everything & am having the same "fun time" guessing the resources I can use (I do know how to see which resources NT claims to be reserved, but it is still trial and error (it doesn't list everything)). So, why would it detect the card & not assign resources?
