What's the purpose of SCXI 1180 module with SCXI 1302

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I have a PCI-6289 DAQ that's connected to a SCXI-1000 chasis. I have 2 modules in it. SCXI 1102-C with SCXI 1303 and SCXI 1180 with SCXI 1302. I have connected 16 thermocouples connected to 16 channels of SCXI 1102C. I am not sure about how to use SCXI 1180( I didn't build the system). Is it a 50 pin connector like a scb 68. I also have a CB 68LPR that I have connected to a Pressure Transmitter. I was wondering if it could be coonected to the analog input of 1302.

Thanks

Hi GoKu25,

For your first question the pinout table for SCXI-1180 can be found on the following link:

What Are The Pinouts of the SCXI-1180?

Also for your reference here is the manual for SCXI-1180:

SCXI-1180/1181 User Manual

Hope this helps 😉

And for the CB-68LPR issue, probably I am misinterpreting your configuration, but why not are you trying to connect your Pressure Transmitter directly to SCXI-1302?

Hi Bavci,

I already have looked up the data sheet of 1180 and their pin mapping. And like I said, I did not build the system. They were there when I started working on it. Thats why I was curious to know why the previous guy used a CB 68LPR when he has scxi 1302.

Besides I was not able to configure my SCXI chasis with 1180 because I could not find it in the drop down list.I have attached a screen shot of it. If I were to use 1302 and I create a task, would the Analog Inputs be under PCI or SCXI. When I use thermocouples with 1303, the inputs are under SCXI

Probably it's due to the fact that 1180 is more of an accessory than a module. Check this link out:

How Do I Configure My SCXI-1180 in Measurement & Automation Explorer?

Also in order to ensure a proper configuration I would advise you to consult the Quick- and Getting Started Guides for SCXI:
