USB 6009 not responding in Lab VIEW

I received the 6009 just the other day. I was able to successfully intall all the software it came with, and even use the data logger software. I was trying to use it while in LabVIEW itself and it is not reconizing. The DAW Wizard

says there is no compatiable hardware connect to your computer. I went into MX to check and see if it was installed without any conflicts and it shows a good indication. Is the USB 6009 not compatable with the DAQ Wizard for some reason? I am running LabVIEW 7.1. Was there something I over looked on installation?

The 6009 uses Daqmx base which is a cut down version of Daqmx, and these are not compatible. Unfortunately the DAQ Assistant operates on Daqmx so you will not be able to use the Daq assistant. I think there are plans for the 6009 to operate on Daqmx, but im not sure when this will happen.

THanks alot that does help....I found a few similiar posts with people having the same problem. I didn't relieve there was different versions of DAQmx. I found some voltage aquire samples but they are are collecting one channel. I will have to figure out how to change these to record 2 channels. I'm new to the LabVIEW thing but interested in learning it. I have taken courses offered by NI and they have never even mentioned the different MXs.

You can do this in the physical channel control. If your device is device 1, then you can select multiple channels by using "Dev1/ai0:5". You only need to type what is in between the quotation marks. This will display channels 0 through 5. You can change that to any range of channels you want. You could also type it in this way "Dev1/ai0, Dev1/ai1, Dev1/ai2" and so on.

Thanks for the tip...I am kinda confused though sorry for the ignorance, but were is the "physical channel control" located? Thanks for the help. This board has already cleared up alot of questions for me. I can see I'll be spending alot of time on it.

Once you install DAQmx Base you can find some excellent examples that are automatically installed with the driver. Go to Start > All Programs > National Instruments > NI-DAQmx Base > Examples > LabVIEW 7.X. I like using the examples that are Dynamic. A great example for you would be "Acq&Graph Voltage-Int Clk.vi" found in the ai folder.

When you open the example you will see a control called Physical Channel. Then follow the instructions that George stated earlier. In other words, if you want to read 2 channels then properly connect your signal and type Dev1/ai0:1 in the control.

It's that easy!

My USB 6009 is not responding either, but not in mxbaseconfig either. I've tried to run the example called "Acq One Sample.vi" - but there are no physical channels to select (same problem in mxbaseconfig). I can see on the USB port diagnostics that the device is connected - so any idead as to what's wrong ? Running LabView 7.1 under Mac OS X 10.4.1.

I am having exactly the same problem with Mac OSX 10.3.6 , LV 7.1 and USB 6009. It does not appear in the list of devices either under Labview or mxbasconfig. It seems therefore that I can't configure the USB 6009.

First off, which version of DAQmx Base are you using? If you are not using DAQmx Base 1.5, then I would recommend upgrading to it. DAQmx Base Version 1.5 for Mac OS X 

Secondly, have you tried using lsdaq to list your devices? If not, Open lsdaq > click Refresh Device List. This should refresh your view of DAQmx Base devices and you should then be able to configure the devices in the DAQmx Base Configuration Utility.

I'm running the lastest version of DAQmx Base (1.5.0) - and Isdaq shows no devices either! Help would be
very much appreciated! I tried the 'refresh' button in isdaq - to no avail.
