Trouble measuring current, possible cross talk ?

I want to measure a current signalacross a know resistor using a differential channel. However the signal I get when measuring this current is simply the drive voltage divided by the resistor value plugged into the computer and does not reflect the physical resistor value. I can change the physical resistor and see no change in the measured value. I believe that the current channel is detecting the drive voltage, which is isolated, and dividing that by the resistor value that I tell it. I have been though the help sections and have resistors on each channel between the measured channels in order to dissapate charge. The cross talk remains and the presence of the physical resistor is not seen by the channel.

Hello edmiles55,

Where is your drive voltage coming from?  Are you using an external power supply or some kind of sensor?  How is the resistor connected to both the DAQ board and the driving voltage?

What DAQ device and task type are you using for this measurement?
