Hi Mark,
National Instruments has not yet qualified any USB extenders for use with our USB products. Our USB products fully compliant with the USB specifications. You might want to contact the manufacturer of your extender about this issue.
Thanks,
Sal

I already have contacted the manufacture of the equipment! They are also based in Austin, Texas..... The reply I got from them is posted below........ your call NI.
"Thanks for the great info and the screen shots.
Our engineering group actually has gotten in these NI data acquisition devices and couldn't make it work on the AnywhereUSB.
National Instruments was going to have to change something on their end to make it function correctly and they were not willing to do it.
I wish I could tell you better news."

Good reply..... but I have tested the 9172 on a laptop that only has USB 1.1 ports and it works fine on that....... so I doubt USB port speed is an issue. When connected to the AnywhereUSB the 9172 never reports that it is ready!

Dear MadMark666,
I think there may be some confusion regarding your quote and the devices in question. I am not
aware of any contact between National Instruments and AnywhereUSB (Digi). There may have been contact in the past but
NI CompactDAQ is completely new and represents new USB technology. NI has been testing USB extender devices but,
as far as I know, there has been no contact between Digi and NI regarding NI
CompactDAQ. If you
have a contact name,
from either company, I would be glad to follow-up.
