Pulse Synchronization and Labview DEBUG

Dear Sir:


      I am seeking to fully understand the Labview timing IDE using a X series DAQ.   Specifically - can I determine rising edge pulse  synchronization by visually inspecting the Labview IDE when the yellow DEBUG light bulb button is depressed and you see the program operate in slow motion.


      In other words, let's say I have two operations that need to be synchronized.    I will say one signal appears to be a "step" signal (for lack of a better word) - in other words the signal looks like the output of  a "de-bounced" switch when you turn on the lights in your house ("a latching signal") and the other signal is a typical square wave pulse train.   


      When you look at your program in  LABVIEW DEBUG mode, must you visually see both task icons start at the same as a pre-condition for possible pulse synchronization?


      I realize that the answer to this question appears to be obvious, however, I would like verification from a NI engineer confirming that this must be the case.   I don't make assumptions about software that I don't write and test myself - to be safe.   


      If possible, does another method exist, whereby I can determine "rising edge" pulse synchronization within the Labview softtware IDE by inspection (without writing, or using, a separate Labview  program appended to the signal generation program such as a graph).      Or, is my only true verification method looking at the output of an oscilloscope.
