NiDAQ Win 2003 Server Driver

Hi,
 
I have a NI6025E board that was previously installed in a Win XP system. It used driver version 7.01. Now I have to move the system to Windows 2003 server and am lost about which driver to choose. I searched on the site, but almost all the drivers list support for Win2000/Win XP only. Please help me choose the appropriate driver.
 
I know almost nothing about how the board is being used; i.e. what APIs etc are used. I have not yet dug deeper into the code to find that out; if that information is necessary for the move then I will dig deeper.
 
Also the web site recommends move to newer NiDAQm drivers; with a disclaimer that legacy drivers should be used in some cases. The charter of my project it just to move the system from Win XP to Win 2003 at this time. Ideally the move should not require any programming. So I may not be able to utilize the better APIs that NiDAQm drivers may offer. Given that I am inclined to use the legacy driver itself. Please let me know if that is a sound strategy.

Hi Amit,

Unfortunately, NI-DAQ is not officially supported on Windows 2003 Server.  Limited testing of NI-DAQ 7.2 was performed on Windows 2003 Server without any problems.  However, no extensive testing was performed.  So while I can say there is a good chance you would be able to get it to work without problems, there is no guarantee and it is not recommended.

Thank you for your detailed response. That clarifies my doubts. I wanted to check if NI plans to 'officially' support Win 2003 support for NI DAQ in near future? Is it in product road map?

Hello Amit,

Unfortunately, that we have our newer API, NI-DAQmx, we do not have any plans to update the older Traditional NI-DAQ driver that you are using. 

If you don't mind my asking, why is it that you are using a server OS for data acquisition?  Just out of curiosity.

Data acquisition is part of a bigger application. The board is used as a part of a inspection tool that detects macro defects on semiconductor wafers. The inspection application may benefit from a move to server OS.
