My daq worked well for a month, and now gives wrong readings: what should I do?

I have a NI USB 6009.
It has been working very well for a long time and then suddenly it started to read wrong signals. When checking with other voltmeter devices the readings are normal but the daq gives wrong readings. Should I high wire something or discharge anything?

Hello Weizmann,

I see that you are using the USB-6009. The first thing I would do to troubleshoot the device is test it in Measurement and Automation Explorer(MAX). By doing this you are isolating the hardware and don't have to concern yourself with troubleshooting the software.

Here are some things to look for:
1) Do you see your devices listed in MAX with a green icon beside it?
2) Do you pass the self test?
3) Open a test panel and test:
        a) analog input
        b) analog output
Make sure you test different channels. You can also try looping analog out to analog in.

What has changed since it was last working? Keep in mind this might be a possible RMA. If that is the case I would recommend calling in to our support line.
Please let me  know if something is not clear. I'd be glad to clarify.

Regards,
