MAX sees my DAQ board, but not DAQ Assistant, LabVIEW, or its "Find Examples..."

Recently I had to completely re-install everything related to National Instruments in order to get my DAQ board to work (a PCI-6023E).

So I re-installed LabVIEW 7.1 and DAQmx 8.0, and Measurement and Automation Explorer works fine, but nothing in LabVIEW does.

DAQ Assistant and LabVIEWs "Find Examples..." no longer launch.

LabVIEW gives me an error whose number it doesn't know.

How do I fix this?

Hi bmihura,

When you say nothing in LabVIEW works, does that mean you are unable to open a new VI and create your own code and run it or you are unable to open any of the example VIs?

If you are unable to open a new VI then you must reinstall LabVIEW. It’s important to make sure your PCI data acquisition boards are removed from the PC before installation of LabVIEW and the corresponding drivers. The process should follow the steps below:

Shut down PC >> remove PCI cards >> Turn on PC and install LabVIEW >> Restart PC and install NI-DAQmx 8.0 >> Restart PC to initialize and implement the changes >> Shutdown PC and install PCI cards.

If the latter half of my statement is true, then you may need to make sure you have Internet access and verify that the NI Service Locator is running. This can be verified by going into Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services. You may try restarting the service by right clicking on NI Service Locator and choosing “Restart”.

Would you mind posting the error code that you were receiving so I can check it with some of our internal databases?

Thanks,
