Error during Uninstall NI-DAQmx MAX Software

Hello,

I try to make a reinstallation of the DAQmx 8.5 software. In some differents posts I founded a link to the softwaretool "msiBlast.exe" with which you can delete all NI-Installer "clearly". With the tool I have deleted all old installer except the following two parts:

1.) NI-DAQmx MAX Support 1.8.0

During the uninstall proccess I´ve got this message

"Internal Error 2753. nidevmon.exe.nidaqmxprovider"
"Error 1603" occurred when try to uninstall NI-DAQmx MAX Support 1.8.0"

2.) NI-488.2.2.40

During the uninstall proccess I´ve got this message

"Internal Error 2356. Cabs.m16"
"Error 1603" occurred when try to uninstall NI-488.2.2.40"

These two parts I can´t delete. After the reinstallation I started the "measurement & automation explorer" and I didn`t found the entry "devices and interfaces" in the configuration explorer. Furthermore I can´t use my programmed softwaremoduls to access the hardware.
I think that the unsuccessful uninstall process is the reason for this problem.
Have you any conclusion? What can I do?

thanks and regards
george

Hello george,

please check out this KB:

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/268AD2EDA9B14EFC86256E7F00790156?OpenDocument

There is described, how to handle the error you get. This is about Labview, but this the DAQmx it should be the same.  Before uninstalling please close the nidevmon.exe in the taskmanager. The best would be to close all processes from NI in the taskmanager. Then you can try to uninstall again.

Hello Andy,

Thanks for your reply.
In the meantime I have solved the problem but now I have some trouble with a DAQ Device(NI USB-6009). If I open the "measurement & automation explorer" I can`t see the item "NI-DAQmx - devices" in the configuration explorer.  The only thing what I have seen was an item "usb device". I found this following link:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/1448A8AC665EE0EA8625703F004A4410

Now I can use the DAQ Device(NI USB-6009) with my programmed softwaremoduls but still I can´t see any items in the "measurement & automation explorer". It seems that it´s very difficult to get a successful installation.

thanks and regards
george

Hi,

I have similar problem. I can't see any DAQmx devices in MAX4.2, when I upgraded from DAQmx8.0 to DAQmx8.5.

Before my USB devices 6501,6008 and PXI devices 6533,4070 all used to appear in DAQmx devices in max. But now they only appear in device manager under data acquisition devices, not in MAX.

I am sure the problems disappears, if I use DAQmxBase or revert back to old DAQmx version, but I can't do that.

Attched is my system report in MAX. Does any body have a clue, what is happening...

Thanks

Hello,

please try to uninstall the MAX and the DAQmx 8.5 with the MSI Blast. After this, reboot your system. Before reinstalling, make sure that no virus scanner and no firewall is active. Try to install the DAQmx again. Make sure that you install the DAQmx Full, there the  MAX will automatically be installed. After the installation reboot your system again. Now you can start your firewall and virenscanner again.

here is the link to the MSI Blast:

I hope this will solve the problem.

Thanks Andy,
This did fully solved the problem.
I have re-installed MAX and DAQ-mx before, but without disabling virus scanner. I can't believe its the antivirus.
I have also downloaded latest DAQ from ni.com and it installed MAX4.2.1, a version up my previous installation 4.2. If its not the antivirus, it could be MAX itself.

Thanks again...

Hello sir,

I am getting the error 2356 occurred at Control & Simulation Loop in Simulation.vi

Possible reason(s):

Control Design and Simulation: The sample period (sec) must be either -1 or positive. If the sample period (sec) is positive, the sample skew (sec) must be greater than or equal to 0 and less than the sample period (sec).

How to resolve this.
