Data Acquisition with NI DAQ or A/D - Devices Help

I am working on a data acquisition project where I need to be reading 64 resistance signals. I am very very new to LabVIEW and DAQ, so I have no clue how to shop for a device. I can't seem to find one, are there NI DAQ devices that come this large?

Do these DAQ devices function as multimeters, essentially?

Or I could purchase a non-NI A/D board, correct? But I don't understand how the data is read on LabView from the board?

Since you're new to this and don't have any prior experience with NI hardware or software, considering the numerous things that can easily go wrong, it would be best to hire a consultant or outsource to an NI Alliance Partner to help you choose the right hardware and develop automation around it.

 

Just the suggestions from the forum would not be sufficient as the forum members can suggest solutions based on the limited information you share over here.
