You can set up the gRPC server on the cRIO, then use the Python gRPC client to communicate with the server from the host PC.  

ni/grpc-device: gRPC server providing remote access to NI device driver APIs. 

It is an entirely different approach and the NI-DAQmx Python is not being used.
