Hi everyone.
I need to make data acquisition on a triaxial accelerometer so I will buy a PCB Piezotronics ICP® TRIAXIAL Model 356A6. Currently I have a NI-USB-6351 but I don´t think it will be the optimal device for this task. What device would you reccomend to get that I can connect to my laptop to record the data and also connect to the forementioned accelerometer?
Thanks

Measuring Vibration with Accelerometers
ICP® TRIAXIAL Model 356A6 is an IEPE sensor. Any C Series Sound and Vibration Input Module would work. See What Is the CompactDAQ Sound and Vibration Measurement Bundle?

Thank you for your reply. I checked the bundles from the link you suggested and I think the best option for what I want is the cDAQ-SV1101. But I am not completley sure it will power the accelerometer since the electrical requirement for the 356A16 accelerometer is 20-30 VDC while NI-9234 (included in the SV1101 bundle) voltage excitation is 19 V maximum. In the other hand the excitation current match for both devices. Are both devices compatible?

No problem to run that sensor with this unit.
The max exitation of 'only' 19 V can slightly limit the max ampltiude of the sensor , but that would be out of nominal range anyway...
(assuming 12 V bias and 490 m/s² max acceleration @ 10.2 mV/(m/s²) results in 5 V amplitude , leaving 2 V headroom 😉 )
And if you don't use 100m cable, the lower end current of 2 mA together with the spec'ed max frequency of 6 kHz shouldn't harm you.
(The drive curent together with the cable capacity limits the max risetime of your signal, it shouldn't be greater than ~ 10 nF )

So just to make sure I am getting all right, my connection will be like this:
Accelerometer 356A16 --> 4 socket plug / 3 BNC Plug --> NI 9234 --> cDAQ-9171 --> USB cable -->Computer
Will I need a signal conditioner like PCB piezotronics 482C15 inbetween the 356A16 and NI 9234? My understanding is that it is not necessary since the NI 9234 will provide the power to the 356A16 and also acquire the signal but there is this video where they use a similar set up to what I will be using and include the signal conditioner 482C15 in the signal chain:

No, you don't need an additional signal conditioner.
In some cases an aditional conditioner is usefull:
- longer cable and/or high frequencies demand for a higher IEPE supply current than the provided 2 mA
- measure frequencies below the 9234 build in high pass (bias removal) in your case depending on the needed amplitude accuracy
(without dedicated calibration and compensation) somewhere below 1-10 Hz (I just calibrated a signal conditioner (Kistler 5011) down to 50 mHz 😉 )
-higher resolution or SNR at low amplitudes. the signal conditioner act as a preamplifier.
