5 volt output on USB-6009 not working

The 5 volt output on a USB-6009 is only outputting 0.88V (measued using both external multimeter and device's AI channel). Also, while capturing the waveform on the device's own analog input line, it drops to 0V every ~2 seconds. When testing the digital outputs, all 12 digital lines only put out 0V or 0.88V (tied to the "5V" line) and exhibit the same 0V dropout that the 5V output line shows. The digital counter doesn't work as well (assume this is tied to the 5V issue).

The analog side of the device works perfectly.

Is there any known problem that would cause this, or is the board just fried? Any suggestions on troubleshooting this issue???

Thanks,

The 6009 is powered from the PC USB power supply.  Is your computer configured to turn off the USB power? Are you using the 5V output to power something?  There is a current limit (200mA??). If you are powering something from the 6009 5V output, check the current draw.

All measurements were with no load. I was just doing an initial checkout of the device. The Analog Output lines on the device put out 0-5V just fine. I will try to plug it into other USB ports to see if there is any difference in the 5V output.

You may also want to try running it through a externally powered USB hub.

I tried other USB powered ports, tried using a different USB cable. Still only getting 0.88V out of the 5V output, but the Analog output still goes up to 5V just fine. Without any other ideas, it seems that the device is broken.

Probably nothing is wrong. When it powers up, the digital I/O defaults to inputs with a pull-up to +5V. This is all documented in the manual.
