How to Communicate with Lenze Servo Position Conroller via CAN or Profibus and Labview

It sounds like 200 Hz will be plenty fast, then.

Is there any negative to going with the faster of the two CAN modules?

Just for your information:
Comsoft is just about to release a cRIO Profibus master module. I will check with Comsoft to get the information about the targeted release date and performance benchmarks. I'll post this information here soon.

Hi GA1

Never mind if we are talking about cRIO. There is no limit in this case. the Limit applies for the PCI/PXI CAN board together with the CANopen Library for LabVIEW.

But the problem is, we do not have a out of the box CANopen solution for cRIO yet. I made some basic examples to communicate with drives using PDO, but thats only a starting point. have a look to the attached example. It is not that difficult to create your own CANopen solution, if you know the protocoll at least a little. 😉

Its for LV 8.2. Let me know if you need more help.

Thanks again. I received some basic vi's from Jorge Noguera in San Diego, but have yet to buy the CRIO controller or Lenze CAN controller. Unfortunately, I don't have even basic knowledge of the CANopen protcol, though I have been researching it.
