Does NI sell stepper and/or dc motors or not?

Sorry if this is a silly question but I have conflicting info on this topic...  Clearly I see motors shown with prices but I was told by an NI rep that they don't sell motors so they would put me in touch with 3rd party sellers???  What's the status of ni selling not just motor controllers but the motors as well???  thanks...

NI definitively does NOT sell any motors. There is more than one company selling motor drivers but no motors. The reason is that in general there are more variations among interfaces drivers-controllers than there are among interfaces drivers-motors. So obviously it is NI's policy to sell motor drivers which match their motor controller devices but NO motors. You can interface virtually any stepper motor with two or four windings to to virtually any stepper motor driver, so it should be no problem to find a supplier for stepper motors, I think NI also has a list of major stepper motor suppliers.

Not a silly question at all. We dinfinitely do sell stepper motors. Originally we did not, but we saw that the demand was there for a "one stop shop."

Sorry for my misleading information, and thanks for the correction. We are in contact with manufacturers of stepper drivers who never sold any motors, but this is not the case with NI. Anyhow, it seems as if NI is selling motors with 1.8 deg resolution only. If you need higher full step resolution, there are some other stepper motor manufacturers to fulfill your needs. But NI's stepper motors with 1.8 deg resolution will work in many industrial applications.  - There are also some manufacturers making 5-phase stepper motors (and dedicated drivers) which usually run smoother than their 2- or 4-phase counterparts. The 5-phase drivers can directly be interfaced to NI motion controllers without any problems.
