Excel VBA Remote Connection

I am using Excel VBA to collect a series of measurements.  After running the macro a few times, the equipment will perform what appears to be a soft reset.

While the equipment is in remote, I continue to open the port.  Would this cause a soft reset type of issue and if this is the issue, how would you set the "instrument" without the GPIB address.

Could you provide the version of Measurement Studio and Operating System you are using?
