time server polling does not appear to be working......
anyway to manually set the time on this device?
(host works fine with same NTP time server - fwiw, time server is not on same subnet)

Let me know if I understand this correctly.  Your device does not seem to be able to access the time server on your host computer and your host computer is on a different subnet?

no, I put in the IP address for our institution's master NTP time server.

is there some other network time protocol in play here?
if so, that configuration box show be labeled in a better way to indicate this....

Hi Mal,

Currently we only support SNTP, not NTP. Most NTP servers also respond to SNTP requests, but perhaps yours doesn't. You may need to enable SNTP on the device explicitly.

Your time server must be in the same subnet as your controller in order for it work.

Mark, what are you basing this on? There should be no reason why this would need to be the case...

Hi Mal,

Under the Real Time pallete there is a VI called "RT Set Date and Time.vi". This should allow you to set the time from within your application.

My mistake.  There is no requirement for the time server to the same subnet.

so is there a simple solution in the VBAI app or on the smart camera to correct this problem or do we just live with it?
