In a word, yes. I am doing something similar. I am using the camera to navigate from die to die on a wafer. Since alignment and pitch of the die may not be perfect, the camera is used to make the motion control adjustments to keep the die centered. It is just a matter of taking the center of the object you are tracking and comparing it to the center of your image. You then scale the pixel distances to the units that you are using in the motion controller.
