edge detection problem

using "measure distance.vi" to detect edge, the edge detection is result unstable and can not get the correct edge location. if burrs appear at the edge,it would get the wrong edge...

Hi there,

I assume you are using LabVIEW for this functionality?

If so, then look more closely at the "Find Horizontal Line.vi".  You will see that you can extract the edge coordinates from the results.  If you did some post processing on these to find the max and the min y values this should give you the distance from the first edge to the last edge.

I would use that method myself.
