data logging

hello!
i want to know how to log data in cvs 1456 and than to send it automaticly to a file in the host computer through ethernet cable.
i'm using VBAI 3.0 as software. and i like also to know if there is another program that can benchmark my application instead of using VBAI's  benchmark.

Hello Serge,

Thank you for using National Instruments discussion forums.  To log data on the CVS using VBAI you can consult the help documentation that is shipped with VBAI 3.0.  Look at Vision Builder AI Configuration Interface Help and Navigate to: "Creating Steps for an Inspection >> Additional Tools >> Data Logging" for information on how to do this with VBAI.  You can also choose to log the data to an FTP server if you have one setup.  You can then setup Data Socket on the CVS to tranfer data to a host computer.  DataSocket can be found under the Communicate section of the inspection steps.  When you do this you need to specify an IP address as well as a port number.  On the host  computer at that IP address you will have to create a program that will listen on that port to receive the data.  For more information on how to use Data Socket on the host computer check out the links below.   I hope this helps.  Thanks and have a great day.

Hello Serge,

I am sorry but I was unable to find the forum you referred to.  I would be more then happy to take a look at it if you post a link to it here.  There is already an applications engineer assigned to your post so I am sure they will be more then capable of helping you in that thread.  That being said I will still be glad to take a look at it.  Thanks and have a great day.
