cvs 1454 strange camera detection problem

hello,
i have been running a vision app on a cvs 1454 with an imaging source dfk 21f04 camera for a time, but now, the cvs is not recognizing the camera anymore.
On a pc, with the ni-imaq drivers, the camera is working correctly. When i plug another cameras (sony and pixelink) to the cvs, the cameras are detected.
A time ago, i had exactly the same problem with the sony camera, but now, the sony camera seems to be working fine.
I have another cvs with the same behaviour. i have reformatted and reinstalled the software on both cvs.
I have latest versions of all components installed on both, the cvs and the pc.

Any clues about what is happening? i am disconcerted.

Check that the power supply of the CVS device can supply enough power to the camera at the same time.

Sometimes depending on the camera model, it can't.

the imaging source had one firewire port damaged and we have checked that with an external power supply it usually works. But the sony camera is working fine in all pcs tested and we tried with an external power supply and still does not work. Only works in two of the three ports of one of the two cvs.
