activating an evaluation module

Several months ago I downloaded the Vision 8.5 Development Module for evaluation. After using it we decided to purchase it and now have a serial number. I have just returned to the project and want to activate the Development Module. It does not show up in the NI License Manager.

 

I have tried to reinstall it using the serial number and it gets to a final screen saying it has been successfully installed, there is a checkbox to "Activate Now" and when I click Next the screen closes and nothing else happens.

Hello Bob,

You can activate your VDM using either a serial number and an online activation process or by importing a license file sent to you by NI sales department. If online activation doesn't work, You may request a license file based on your computer ID.

 

You may contact NI directly, I believe they can tackle your problem as fast as possible.

Thanks for the response. Online anything won't work because this is a lab computer and can't get online. I guess we'll have to try the sales department.

Under the ni.com/activate listings I could not find an entry for the Vision Development Module.

Tried that. Got an activation code. Went to the license manager and entered the code and got the following message: "Does not correspond to any of the products you are activating." The VDM does not show up in the list of products displayed by the License Manager.

Check directory <Program Files>\National Instruments\Shared\License Manager\Licenses

You should have file Vision_Vision_PKG_080*00.lic in this directory.

If this file missing, try to reinstall or repair Vision.

Also good idea to download and install latest version.
