acquire images at the rising edge of a continuous pulse signal

I want to acquire  images at the rising edge of a continuous external pulse  signal .The external pulse signal is generated by other equipments.How should I integrate this continuous pulse signal to the CCD or IMAQ board? Is it to connect this pulse signal to one of  TTL -trigger directly?
