Why does simulate acquisition fail?

Hi,

I'm using VBAI 3.0 Evaluation and for some strange reason, the simulate acquisition step fails for most of the files in a directory of image files. What I was doing was extracting frames from a video file and placing them all in a folder, in png/jpg format. I managed to create an inspection sequence that worked perfectly with these same files. When I tried it again today, most of the image files were failing at this step. I thought that the files may be corrupted somehow, so I tried to recreate them, however that did not fix it either. Please advise as to what I should try.

Hi Hafeez, using the Vision Builder AI 3.0 Evaluation one possible reason for Simulate Acquisition to fail is that the 30-days evaluation period of the software expired. You can check the license status by launching the NI License Manager (Start>>Programs>>National Instruments>>License Manager) and checking the activation status of Vision Builder AI 3.0>>Application.

Hope this helps,

Nicolas

Check that the file format is the correct on for your application (e.g. if you use tools that works on black/white images and you try to load images in rgb format).
May be that you created your images with a software and saved them in RGB format.

Thanks for your responses. I think it is a memory issue, as it seems to work with about 800 images (100 mb). Does anyone know what the memory limitations are for the simulate acquisition tool?
