Webcam Ext. Trigger Workaround?

Has anyone externally triggered a Logitech C600 series Webcam?

If it is not possible, then how can we get a software trigger through LabView?

Hello,

I would be highly suprised if there was a way to externally trigger a webcam. That would involve reverse engineering the lines to the camera only if it has a trigger line - which is something not all cameras have. What are you trying to accomplish here? Effectively, snapping an image from the camera would be equivalent to a software trigger.

Your tip is good but this would involve getting external trigger on the PC and then getting the snap which might introduce some unwanted delays.

Hello,

You could also constantly acquire images and only store the latest 5 or so. Whenever you got the trigger on the PC, you could then try and determine which image corresponded to the trigger moment.
