Vision Builder calculator function palette problem

I am experiencing problems with Function palette in the Calculator of Vision Builder for AI 3.0. It shows only questionmarks with lables instead of any real functions available. Some other document on ni.com says there is a problem when using VB and LV 8.0.1 together. It wasnt my case, but I rather uninstalled everything and installed the VB AI 3.0 only, but the problem persists.

Is there any other know issue with the Function Palette? It is important for me to make the Calculator available ASAP.

Thanks for your response.

Hello Matin,

The KnowledgeBase article you are referring to, found here, should most likely address the issue you are having with the palette not properly being populated in the VBAI Calculator.  I would definitely recommend trying the suggestions found in this article (if you have not already), regardless of your version of LabVIEW.

This will ensure that the locations of your VIs in LabVIEW have not been modified, because VBAI will not know where to find them if you have.  By resetting the palettes to point to their default location, VBAI will be able to find the VIs necessary for its calculator.

Please post back if you are still unable to see the VIs in VBAI after trying the suggestions in the KnowledgeBase.

Regards,

Jasper S

Dear Jasper S,

I have tried the sugestion from the knowledgebase even before posting the question. Without any efect. I have then unistalled everything twice, i even deleted all known records in Registry, deleted all directories I have known there are with any labview and NI content and isntalled the VBAI 3.0 from scretch. It didnt help a bit. What i was really surpised was that the function palette have too many icons, even some addons like OpenG... I dont understand where does it come from, because everything was uninstalled by that time.
I cannot paste the screenshot here, but there are about 12 icons with questionmarks, including Motion, DSC, FPGA, OpenG and lots of other icons. I have seen the thing working on my collegues computer and there should be only 4 icons all together.

I suspect the VBAI is loading some bad palette from somewhrere it should not load, but i thought I have deleted everything. I dont have any labview currently installed so I cannot restore the defaults. Do you have anything in mind?

Regards

I have accidentaly found the solution to my problems. It has been a directory called LabVIEW Data which is by default located in the My Documents folder. I have forgot to delete this one (I have overlooked it for a long time). It contained some .mnu files which were not suitable for the VBAI and corrupted the function palette in the Calculator step. If you have similar problems as I had, try to dele the files (my a backup first) and the function palette starts working for you as desired.
