nimaq,
I answered your question in your other posting. It can found through the link below...

About the PCMCIA Firewire card make sure it is POWERED. Most are not. The PCMCIA can't source enough voltage to power the camera. A powered PCMCIA Firewaire card has an external power adapter that in turn will power the camera.

nimaq,
One of my more astute coworkers (a know it all, so he thinks, hehe), reminded me that we do sell a PCMCIA/Cardbus PXI Chassis controller and a ExpressCard PXI controller (if you have a computer with an ExpressCard slot).
Cardbus controller link...

Hi,
I did exactly the same. Powered the PCMCIA firewire card. But the problem is that i can see live images on MAX, but when i use the VBAI, it would not work. Even if i set the properties to 'free running', the camera still would not give an image on VBAI. I am using a Prosilica EC 640 camera. I need to know whether i can use the PCMCIA Firewire card, Prosilica Camera and my Laptop for real time image processing in this way?

Mirza,
Are you recieving any errors when you try to use your firewire camera in VBAI?
Can you provide us with some more details about the problem?
Thanks,

Yes Sir,
Just recently, I received a timeout error. As i contamplate, i think i will have to give a trigger in any case?? I have powered the Firewire card from a separate power source and i can easily see it in free running mode in MAX. I guess I cannot do that through my laptop under VBAI??? If YES, why?? Because it runs in free running mode under CVS.
Your comments shall be highly appreciated.
