ShotCode and Vision

Has anyone been asked to try to decde ShotCode and Vision.  ShotCode is,"ShotCode is a circular barcode created by High Energy Magic of Cambridge University. It uses a dartboard-like circle, with a bulls eye in the centre and datacircles surrounding it. The technology reads databits from these datacircles by measuring the angle and distance from the bulls eye for each."  It has been around since 1999.

Hi Matt,

Since Shotcode is not one of the available options for the IMAQ Read Barcode VIs, it looks like you will need to develop your own algorithm to read these.  My suggestion would be to use the edge detection VIs to determine what blocks are present along various radial lines on the circle.

The difficulty will be figuring out how this information can be translated into the proper text.  I have looked around, but I have not been able to find this anywhere, so it's possible that this may not be public information.  This site provides a tool for generating Shotcodes; you may be able to use this to reverse engineer the proper algorithm.

I hope this helps.
