Power on problem 1407 and IMAQ 3.1.1

Hi,
My problem is that I get an error the first time I grab an image after power on.
I use an IMAQ PCI 1407 on a WinXP SP2 PC and the IMAQ driver V 3.1.1.
The Error massage is: 0xBFF6001F “Es kann keine Video Quelle gefunden werden „
Witch means: „ Can’t find a video source“.

Hi ISOS

Do you have this problem only with your programm or also with NI example progarmms?
The examples you can find with the NI example finder under:
signal acquisition with hardware => IMAQ

Hi ManuelW,
I use the NI VBAI. When the VBAI starts up an Inspection, I get the message:
"The Inspection specified to launch at start could not be opened.
Go to Tools >> Options. In the Inspection tab, specify the Inspection to start at launch."

When I power on the System, opens MAX /NI-IMAQ Devices / imq0: / cannel0:CCIR and grab or snap an Image, I get the Error message “0xBFF6001F.

hi ISOS,

here is an exception from an internal post regarding the error description you got:

*****
The loop with the scaling didn't have the channel connected, so when you switched channels to 1, it worked for the first loop since it did have the channel connected, but the second loop didn't so the first call returns error BFF6001F (can't lock on video channel). After I connected the channel to the second IMAQ Grab Setup, it worked fine and passed the test.
*****

hope this helps.

greets!

hi Watermann,
thanks for your replay.
I just use the MAX and the VBAI V2.6.
So I could only made a second Setup for the image Device (imq1), which also uses channel 0.
There was no difference if I use imq0 or imq1.

hi isos,

have you:
- checked the cable;
- checker the signal of the camera on other devices
- power on before starting the pc
- testing different pci slot

Hi TimoS

my application was working before I needed a new PC. On the old PC was Win2k and I use IMAQ 3.01.

The new PC has WinXP SP2 and I use IMAQ 3.1.1. The application is still working, only the first time to take a shot the error appears.

- the cables are ok

- I can't check the signals because this is the only  IMAQ device I have.

- The camera is always powered on before the PC

- I tested a different pci slot put the same problem.

Hi,

i have seen the same problem. I have written a workaround for this,

means i ignore the first error and setup a 2nd grab command. That is working.

We have also tested different Motherboards, slots, grafikcards.. but no effect. With the PCI1409

there is no problem in the same enviroment.

We change also the driver NI-IMAQ 3.1.3 -- No effect

Hi DiD

I still haven’t found a solution. Next thing I will try is to update my VBAI Software, but I think it won’t solve the problem

Best regards to all companions in misfortune
