NI-1426 Camlink support for DVC-1412A camera ?

Hi there,

I would like to know if the NI-1426 Camera-Link PCI board can be use with the DVC-1412A camera made by DVC ? Will the card driver be able to acquire images or video from the camera through the NI-1426 card ?

Chris,

After looking at DVC's specifications for the 1412, it appears that it does have a CameraLink output, which means you should be able to use it with the PCI-1426.  However, you may want to verify that you do have a CameraLink output on the camera.

There currently is no camera file listed for the DVC-1412 for use with NI's PCI-1426 card.  So, you have two options:

1. Create a camera file by downloading the camera file generator: ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/imaq/pc/ni-imaq/cfgenerator/2.0.2/

2. Request NI to make a camera file for you (Option 4, after the jump): http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/nipc.specs?action=search&asid=1102

Thanks for the reply. There seems to be an icd file for the parallel digital version of the DVC-1412 camera for 1422,1424 cards available here :  http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/nipc.product?pid=3542
Since DVC claims the command set between the Camera link and parallel digital camera is the same, does that mean I can use the same ICD file ?

Chris,

You will not be able to use a parallel digital camera file with a CameraLink camera.  If you take a look inside the camera file, you will see the supported cards that it is designed to work with.

I would suggest contacting DVC to see if they have made available a CameraLink camera file for your model.  If they have one, posting it to this forum would be much appreciated.
