Linux-Driver for Vision Development

In Philips mechanical engineering we have to specify at present the task, a standard Visionsystem for the next years. On the one hand there is the consideration to use NI hardware;on the other hand we would like to program in the future our Visionsysteme under Linux - both with LabView and in C, depending upon setting of tasks.Linux drivers for image Acquisition would be very important here. The function range, which I need, is relatively small:The Frame Grabber PCI 1409 will in most cases be sufficient.Therefor I need
- a hardware driver for Linux, as well as
- would have some functions for adjusting internal parameters on the PCI 1409 (e.g..AD threshold, if necessary LUTs), and
- Function(s) for the actual pictu
re recording.

I have all image processing algorithms, which I need, as c-source texts to be present, so that I must not have them necessarily from you. If you have a driver with " perhaps Minimal" functions or if you know one of your customers, which " wrote a Linux driver for the PCI 1409 for the internal requirement " would be already very much helpfull for me.I do not need a " complete package ".

For any resuming information I am very grateful.(Tel.:0049-(0)241 / 539 - 3817

Yours sincerely,

A Linux driver for IMAQ is currently being considered but will not be available for some time. Currently all IMAQ solutions reside on Windows based platforms, but I will be sure to give your feedback to our IMAQ developers.

Just a driver for the PCI-1409 digitizer (so smaller scale than a full IMAQ solution) might be enough to satisfy linux users...
