Inherit code with vision module

Solved!
Go to solution

I am inheriting some code that uses the vision module.  I don't have the vision module.  If I edit the non-vision related code and compile the executable again, would there be a problem?

Hi

I dont think that is should give any problem but if possible can you send the code and tell the details of what you are going to change in the code then i can tell you mere clearly.

You will be able to view and edit the code, but not able to build executable, because VIs uses VDM will be broken.

Let me clarify to see does that make a difference or not.  The vision module is actually installed, but the serial number that is associated with the vision module purchase has been replaced with another number that is not associated with a vision module purchase.  Would that be a problem?

You can go to NI license Manager and see if the Vision Development is still Activated. If so you are fine.

It's not enough for the tool kit to be installed, Labview requires it to be activated before allowing you to run or compile the VI.

you could use the License Manger to activate the Vision developement tool only with your previous License.

hope this helps,
