Image data acquisition

Hi,

I will have interference fringe patterns, that is, Newton's rings created from a deflected thin film membrane by applying pressure. As pressure increases, the deflection becomes larger and the number of the rings changes as well. From the number of the rings the deflected membrane height can be calculated. So I am wondering if the number of the rings can be counted automatically by software (such as IMAQ) and recorded in the LabVIEW program together with pressure data whenever a fringe image is captured by a CCD camera.

Thanks.

Newton fringes are very difficult to measure as they can be very faint and distorted. We've developed software to count Newton fringes on displays as part of a turnkey display inspection system. I can't release the details on how our software works but I would be happy to test our software on your images. If you'd like, you can email them to me at kpietrzak@displaycheck.com.
