Image acquisition problem

Good Morning,

I'm Federico Catania, from University of Genoa. We just bought Labview 8.0, in order to acquire images with NI-Imaq 3.5.1. We use an Hamamatsu CCD Video Camera C5405-50/-51, with an IMAQ PCI-1409 device.

We just started to acquire images, following some of the example located in the Examples of Labview, for instance "Snap and Save to File.vi". Launching the program, Labview didn't detect any error, but, when we run the VI, the image is situated only along the upper and left border of the acquisition window in the Front Panel, without covering the entire window. We don't absolutely know which is the problem, also because using Measurement and Automation Explorer 4.0, the image works well using both the "Snap" button and the "Grab" one.

Any suggestions about it?

Thanks in advance

Federico

Hello,

I forgot another problem, sorry, but we are at first steps programming with Labview....

Following the example mentioned before ("Snap and Save to File.vi"), we noticed also that, trying to find in the Functions Palette the buttons "IMAQ create" or "IMAQ dispose", in order to use them in another VI, these buttons doesn't exist in our version. Is it a problem connected with not installing some features in the NI-IMAQ driver, as Labview 7.0 support?

Thanks again for any suggestion

Federico

Hi Federico,
the basic-IMAQ.... .vis are located within the vi.lib/vision folder.
I don't know why they are not listed in the functionspalette of LV 8 (in LV 7 it's ok).
As soon as I have more information about that, i come back!

You said, that the image acquisition in MAX works well...
Have you tried to save the settings one time in MAX and afterwards to acquire a picture in LV?

Best regards,
ThSa

Hello.
I have just like this problem: we when run VI, the image is situated only along the upper and left border of the acquisition window in the Front Panel, and also the image acquisition in MAX works well..
We use PXI-1409, LV8.0.1, Vison 8.0, Vision 8.0.0 Acquisition Software.
In the LV7.1&Vision 7.1 its ok!

Thanks.
Akhat.

We're having a similar problem: on a PCI 1409, with CCIR channel, we're having a white image as soon as we set the ref level for white below 1.
As if it was rounded to 0
we need it to be 0.246

And same for black ref level, now that I think on it.
Is there any way to fix that?
