I have tested IMAQ Quantify 2.vi vs. the old IMAQ Quantify.vi. It seems that the newer one does not use the mask offsets if the mask is generated without using an image model. Is this wanted behaviour, i.e. using the full mask image instead of the reduced mask with offset? Perhaps for speed?
Attached is a VI comparing both (LV10 SP1).
Thanks,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,
I am sorry I couldn't find any documentation about the exact changes between these two functions. I saw the differences as well, they are similar but not exactly the same.
I am not sure what is meant with "mask offset".
I am not sure if it is possible to get that information for you. So are you able to work with your function?

Hi Regina,
with "mask with offset" I meant the use of a reduced síze mask where the mask image is sized like the global rectangle of the ROI instead of the full image. The offset of this mask with respect to the original image is stored within the mask and used to correctly position the mask when applied to an image. This is a good concept as it saves memory and possibly is also much faster. Therefore it is a pity that this feature obviously had been "forgotten" when the IMAQ Quantify VI had been overworked for calibrated images. As far as I can see it this is a bug, as the new version provides erroneous results when using this useful and documented mask concept.
The old version works fine for me for the moment, but it is not found on the current palette.
Thanks,
Dirk

Hi Dirk,
Sorry for my late reply, i was out of office.
I had a closer look at the problem.
An I agree with you this is a behaviour which ist not wanted. No matter if the reason are the offsets or not, the behaviour is different and this is not dokumented.
So I will contact my colleagues in Amerika to find an answer to that.
I will keep you updated.
Best regards

Hi Dirk,
Now i have checked the issue and I created a Corrective Action request(CAR) regarding that. This means you are right the behaviour is wrong and we have to solve it.
The number of the CAR is: 298497
You can search for this number on our homepage so you can see if this problem was resolved for a new release of the Software.
Best regards
