When taking an FFT of an image and analyzing the pixel values of the resulting complex image, the numbers contain modulus values (Real part of value) as high as 5,000,000. Can someone confirm whether or not these modulus values (and specifically the maximum modulus value) is used to scale the values of the pixels used to display the FFT image from 0 to 255. Somehow these complex values in the FFT array are scaled to an 8 bit or 16 bit image so it can be displayed--I need to know, is it the modulus that's used in the scaling process?
Thanks for your time.
