IMAQ Calibration

Hi,
I've looked at the calibration examples and I think I'm doing it right - but the "corrected" images I get are really awful.
I used 2 calibration grids (one with bigger spots), which shows a slight fish-eye distortion, and to test the calibration process I tried to correct the other grid, and then tried to correct the same grid - and both give similar results ... a truly distorted image, especialy at the edges (the parts that really need to be corrected).  I used bmps, but just to check I tried png format - no change in result.

Could someone please look at this sample and help me out.  The images are included.

Your problem is your threshold level.  Your image has uneven lighting, and the edge dots are not thresholding properly with the default settings.  I changed the upper limit from 128 to 100, and it works fine.

Another option would be to use dynamic thresholding on the image before running the calibration routine.

Thanks Bruce, works just fine now.  Isn't it easy when you know how 🙂
