IMAQ AVI Write Frame Incompatible compression filter

I am trying to write compressed images to an AVI file (up to 50FPS). I am selecting filters from a list of items returned by 'IMAQ AVI Get Filter Names'. Most generate error 1074396007. The ones that do work give poor results. Based on another thread, I downloaded the Cole2K Media codec pack. The added items don't work either. I am running Windows XP w/SP2, LV 8.0.1, IMAQ 3.5.1, IMAQ1394 2.0.2. Does anyone know why the other codecs/filters don't work with AVI Write Frame?

Phillip,

Do you have the Vision Development Module or just the Vision Acquisition Software?  In order to write compressed AVI files, you need the Vision Development Module.  We spoke earlier today and I think I remember you saying that you did not have the Vision Development Module.

Chris,

I have Vision Acquisition Software only and I can write compressed files. Yes. Today the codecs work. My camera's max image size is 659x493.  One of the new codecs out of the Cole2K package put up a warning dialog stating that the implementation might need image sizes in multiples of 32 wide x 16 high. So, I tried setting the ROI to 640x480 and, presto, most of the codecs worked. After some experimentation I discovered that the troublesome codecs have an upper limit to image size of 640x480. Anything under that worked. Anything over that generated the error.
