Solved!
Go to solution
Hello!

I'm using IMAQ with VB and IEEE1394 camera. My problem is folowing.
When I start Trigger Mode 1 and start grabing picture, I yust cant stop triger mode,
because all buttons are inactive. I must push Stop Acquisition and then one or more times activate
trigger. Is there any other solution to normaly get out of Trigger mode and yust stop it.

Can anyone provide any solution?

Regards!

Hello,

You cannot change the acquisition mode of the camera during a grab. You must stop the acquistion and then change the mode. I'm sorry but there is no way to change the trigger mode during the grab.

Hello!

I don't want to change the mode. I'd yust like to stop waiting for trigger signal. After I have started Acquisition in trigger mode 1 all controls on form are inactive. So I have to press
control button to stop acquisition and then insert trig signal once more.

Can I yust go out of this mode without inserting trigger signal?

Regards!

Look at the Trigger1394 example.  This does a triggered snap.  It will snap once and then it will be done and won't be waiting for the trigger signal again. It is located at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ for IEEE-1394\Examples\VB

Hello Chriss!

I've seen that. But what if user doesn't want to wait for this trigger event, maybe he changed his intention and he like to stop acquisition and that why he should stop this acquisition in trigger mode without waitiong of trigger event. What then? In this case he have to fire one trigger event.

Any idea?

Regards!

So you want to set it up for a trigger and then while its waiting for a trigger allow the user to change his mind and say that he does not want to wait for a trigger? This is not possible, once it is set up to wait for the trigger you do need to stop the acquisition to change the mode.

Hello Chriss!

I can understand that. But what should I  do to avoid waiting for new triger pulse, to exit from triger mode acquisition?

You can't avoid waiting for the trigger once you have set up the acquisition.

Hello,

I stumbled on the same problem in my application. It is imperative for us to be able to cancel the trigger mode at any time. I downloaded the trial version of ActiveDcam software, and it lets me do it with no problem.  You just set the trigger property to false, and the acquisition continues in a regular mode. I don't seem to have such an ability in IMAQ.
