How to differentiate between flux, dust & impression...?

Hello... 🙂

I'm using Vision Builder 3.5 & Camera with 3M pixel..... My problem is I have to check two carbon tracks on PCB for OK codition... there are three solder joints near the carbon tracks so I have to check that there is no flux on the tracks... But I'm not able to differentiate between flux, dust & impression... Is there any way to differentiate between flux, dust & impression...?

Thanks for any help from you.. 🙂

Can you post some sample images? The color of the flux may be unique, dust and impressions may show up with darkfield lighting.

Without seeing your scenario, it's hard to tell.

   Hello Rupali... Smiley Wink

It would be veru helfull if you could post some sample images,   The camera resolution is very good,  is the camera  color or monochrome

also what lens are you using? you may play with the lighting

Just thinking with out seeing the images,  you can use a zoom lens so you can zoom the image and get more definition...

        Best Regards...   Smiley Happy

I'll send you some more picture from the actual camera I'm using on production line... With the changes I have made through software... Right I'm playing with intensity part.. It detects the dust & flux very accurately.. But gives problem with wiper impression which are made during PCB testing... & those are present on 100% PCB... On some PCB's they are very dark... In that case my software gives false calls... n I want to avoid this... Can you help please...?

                 Hi Rupali....

I take a look to the image you post,

The two carbon path are in very good shape to inspect using geometric match.  then you can try intensity on you inspection

any way can you post some pictures taken with the camera  that you have in the production line.

                 Best Regards..Smiley Wink
