How do we set the camera link transferring clock rate?

my camera link frame grabber is NI PCIe-1427
according to its manual ,this grabber can work between 20MHz~85Mhz
do we need to program to make it work at a certain clock rates? or it will automatically set it own rate?

since right now i want to set it working at 85Mhz to give me fastest camera link data transferring rate.
is any one ever had such experience? any help will be appreciated 🙂

thanks

Hello Jack,

Thank you for using National Instruments discussion forums.

The PCIe-1427 as well as all the other camera link frame grabbers determine a pixel clock from the HSync and VSync signals that come from the camera.  The frame grabber knows the size of the expected image and then determines a pixel clock from the timing of the "H" and "VSync signals".   So the pixel clock is automatically changed to the speed of the data and the Sync signals that are coming from the camera.  You do not need to specify the speed of this clock.  There is a good explanation of this at the following link:

Digital Camera Basics

I hope this information helps.  Thanks and have a great day.
