Front panel not responding

Hi. I'm having some problems with my aplication interface.

The aplication needs to continuosly get the selected current roi tool for an image with a while loop.
The problem is that some times the interface stop responding to the clicks in the roi tool buttons and the only way back to the normal procedure is selecting another window task and then back to the aplication (or minimize and restore the aplication window).

I put a counter indicator in the front panel just to confirm that the aplication is in fact still running despite not responding to the clicks in the front panel.
I've tried putting a wait block in the while loop to minimize the cpu usage of the process but the "crash" still happens.

I've attach a very simple vi just to show the problem.

Thanks in advance

Hi Polar,

I don't seem to be seeing that error in my LV 8.0.1.  What version of LV/ IMAQ/ Vision/ Vision Development system do you have installed?

Thanx

I have installed LabView 8.0 and Vision 8.0.

The problem only happens after clicking several times in the roi tool pallete.

Hi Polar,

Well I have tried your code over and over again, (I even left it on overnight to see if the problem still occurs and I haven't seen anything like the problems you are seeing)
What is the processor usage when you run this code?  Do you have other programs running at the same time?

I would like to help you with this but I can't recreate the problem at the moment.  Any information about your setup will help me do that.

Thanx

Hi
I can't reproduce your problem with LV 8 and vision 8. I have run it for 10 minutes without any problem. Have you tested on other computers? Have you changed the priority of your VI with respect to other applications?

Hi again!

First I'd like to thanks your concern about this problem and I understand that's hard for you to help when this seems to happen only in my computer.Smiley Sad

I've tested in Windows XP with a Pentium 4 @ 3GHz (512MB of RAM) and it occurs sometimes, while with a Pentium 1.6GHz it crashes more often.

I didn't change the priority of the applications and with the while loop timer the cpu usage stays lower then 7%.

In fact the application was suppost to run in Pentium 1.6GHz and it usually takes less then 5minutes of clicking on roi tool palette to crash the buttons.
