Enable lines

I have ordered the PCI NI 1422.  well First of all i have built a digital cameria i have selected to use this board to hook it up to my computer. The problem is i am writing software for the cameria, which is being controled by a FPGA board, and i am not sure what the NI 1422 wants to recieve. I am not sure what enable lines to turn on or off.  My cameria will be sending a line of the picture at a time, using the Hsync and Vsync. I am also not sure where i need to use the control pins on the Ni1422.  I am not sure what to program the FPGA to send to the NI1422 beside the cameria data.
thanks

Hey BobCO,

There is a great Tutorial on NI's web site called Digital Camera Basics, and this should get you started. Basically the three most important types of digital signals that come out of a digital camera are the data lines, the pixel clock, and the enable lines.

Also, the IMAQ PCI/PXI-1422 User Manual has more information about what the 1422 will need, especially in Chapter 4 - Signal Connections. One last resource that I would point you to would be the NI Camera File Generator which will help you create your own custom camera file for your custom camera.

These documents should get you started and will help you throughout getting your system set up. Please let me know if you cannot find what you are looking for in these documents. Thanks, and have a great day.

Regards,
DJ L.
