Clear ROI event

I need to be able to detect when the user has cleared the ROI using the shortcut menu in an IMAQ image display control.  However, selection of "Clear ROI" on the image display control doesn't appear to trigger the "Shortcut Menu Selection" event (user or app) in my event structure. 

I'd really like to handle this with the event structure (I absolutely don't want to poll the ROI values), but I don't seem to be able to capture this event.  I've even thought about disabling the shortcut menu and using a button to clear the ROI, but I'd rather keep the shortcut menu.  Also, when I attempt to edit the shortcut menu for the image display, the "Pallette...", "Save Image", and "Clear ROI" items don't appear in the list.

Anyone got any ideas?

I definitely see what you're talking about.  I can't find any documentation on this behavior, so I reproduced it and plan to show it to our developers.  I'll let you know the results as soon as I can!

Thanks David.  In the meantime, I've found a way to accomplish what I needed --- I just rebuilt the shortcut menu.  My menu is exactly the same as the default, except when the user selects Clear ROI, my event structure gets called appropriately.

This is now a recognized issue, and the development team will be working to correct it.  I can't say whether the fix will be included in a patch or a future version of the software, but we'll definitely work to fix it.

The recommended workaround is exactly what you've already done -- build a custom shortcut menu that mimics the original.

We're still working on this issue at present, so there's no fix available yet.  I won't be able to specify when it will be cleared up, but NI doesn't release patches for individual fixes.  I expect this one to be included in a future release of Vision that includes multiple improvements, whether as an upgrade release (.x) or a new full version (x.0).

I need this feature.  Detection of Clear ROI or when user clicks Zoom to Fit.  But still not fixed in LV2012.

Nearly 20 years later this still seems to be an issue. Making a custom menu for the image works for me.
