Hello,
I have recently purchased a PCIe-1433 framegrabber and installed it on my computer. I am trying to use it with a Dalsa Falcon 4M60 Monochrome Camera (using a Medium Camera Link). According to all specifications, these are compatible. However, there doesn't seem to be a camera configuration file for this camera available. There is the Dalsa PT-41-04M60-med file, but I've noticed that this file has the maximum width as 2368, when in fact it should be 2352. This leads me to believe there may be other errors with this file that I am unsure of. At any rate, I have tried to use this file with my camera and am having no success. No image appears, and when I use "Snap" or "Grab" in NI MAX, I get a timeout. I have attempted to create my own configuration file for the camera using the latest verson of the NI Camera File Generator (or at least, modifying the PT-41-04M60-med file) but other than fixing the width parameter, I am unsure of what to change, and changing the width parameter has not solved the problem. I have also tried all other 4M60 files on the FTP site to no avail.
I have used this camera with an older framegrabber, and I have 4M60 camera configuration files which worked for that framegrabber, but they are in a different format (R64 Camera Configuration File). Is there a way to convert them to a format NI programs will recognize? The issue of trying to convert them manually is that some options are not available in the NI program. For instance, my old files had a four tap, four way interleaved sensor architecture, which doesn't seem to be an option in the NI Camera File Generator.
Any advice? Thanks!

There is a camera file generation utility available for download. Documentation on using it is abit sparse, but it's not too dificult to figure out basic acquisition. NI Framegrabbers use their own camera file format, so having one from another vendor might provide some hints, but there is usually no direct way to convert one to another,
If you can find a comparable camera file for a camera in the same series, you can probably start with that as your template in the camera file utility.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I have been using that, however, as I stated in my initial question, "The issue of trying to convert them manually is that some options are not available in the NI program. For instance, my old files had a four tap, four way interleaved sensor architecture, which doesn't seem to be an option in the NI Camera File Generator."
Any suggestions?

The terminology may be different, but they are there. I believe the taps are shown graphically. They are icons with grids. Blue and yellow coloring, if I recall correctly.

Nonetheless, there is no way to obtain the four-way interleaved configuration I want. Do you have any other suggestions?

One thing that I usually try when I am troubleshooting problems with the Camera File Generator, is to try starting with a brand new camera file to see if it can do what I want. I think that the exisiting camera files have certain configurations that limit other configurations. You might want to experiment with this.
Also, when the Camera File Generator first opens, make sure to specify the target board. If you select the wrong target board then it may limit the tap configurations you could use (whether the board supports CameraLink Base, Medium, or Full). Once you select the target board and click Create New Camera File, you will not be allowed to change the target board without restarting the Camera File Generator.
