Caliper returns null values

Hi all,
Actually, I want to measure the diameter (using clamp tool) the object in the image, for that I have generated this VI (NIVA_bulid.vi) through NI vision assistant, where I can get the distance between the points 1 & 2 from caliper tool.
But , when I run as vi (dreived from VisionScript.scr), the indicators Calibrated results and Caliper results shows only the zero value.
Can anybody please tell me what’s the problem in this?
Looking forward for your eagerly.

Thanks.

Hello.

I have taken a look at your Vision Assistant script and images.

Actually, when I open your script in my Vision Assistant (Vision Assistant 7.1), build the LabVIEW VI (LabVIEW 7.1 Vision 7.1), and run the VI with your image files, I am able to get results!

I have attached the VI that I used to perform the action.

If the algorithm does not detect the edges, then you will see null data in the outputs. Be sure that you are selecting the same images that you were using in Vision Assistant, and you should be able to get the same data. Again, if there is null data, it is because the algorithm did not find the required edges/points.

Hi Colin,

I can't find any attached VI file after your message. Could you do it once again for me ?

Thanks for response

The problem here is not related to edge finding, but to a bug in the Vision assistant !
The built vi as a flaw : the "Points In" input of the Caliper vi is connected to an empty array, instead of being wired to the "Edge Coordinates" output of the IMAQ Clamp.

Hi Charly,
It's excellent, I have corrected the vi as you said, now it works perfectly.
But couldn't open your modified .vi since it's in Labview 7.1, I have only Labview 7.0. Is there any way to open higher version(7.1) .vi in lower one(7.0) ?

Anyway, I thank very much for your valuable help.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Prasath !

No way to read vis of a higher version number. Just remember to tell us which version you are using when you request help. Anyway, you managed to do the modification. Congratulations ;)!

Keep wiring...
