CVS Resolution

I need to display an image of resolution 1024 x 768 in CVS.I set up the resolution in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection but it is not remaining fixed. That is, Once i put my startup application in the CVS, the application runs before even the VBAI script runs completely and so the resolution is not set. So the CVS goes back to the default resolution(640 x 480).What should i do to keep the resolution fixed?.Is there a way to keep the resolution of the CVS fixed PROGRAMATICALLY (using LABVIEW)?

Hello,
The resolution of the VGA output on the CVS can be modified using the remote target options in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection. The knowledge base talks about it in detail.
Good luck with your application and have a great day!

Thank you madam for your reply. But the thing is, i already set that option(VBAI remote target options)to 1024 x 768. That is not a problem. But once you put your startup application into CVS, the application starts running first even before the VBAI script in CVS could run. So, the resolution is adopting to the default one of 640 x 480 and not the required one.So, what should i do to keep the resolution to my need?

Hi puradchi,

I have already found a solution for the problem of setting required resolution in CVS. Actually, you have to install IMAQ RT or you can just copy IMAQ RT vis from someone else if you dont have it already. There is a vi called IMAQ VIDEO OUT DISPLAY MODE with which you can set the resolution of the CVS programatically from Labview itself. If you set it once it would be enough. That is , if you just initialize it once, it will remain fixed till u change it programatically or restart the CVS.

For your convienience i have attached the vi myself. you can just copy this vi and put it in the Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\vi.lib\vision\folder and use it wherever necessary

Thanks,
Vasanth

Vasanth,

Thank you very much. It fixed my problem.
By any chance do you know where I can find the latest Starup Application that comes with the cvs. Because Soon as upgraded to the latest RT the startup applicatopn stopped working.

Thanks again

Hello,

Though I am a little concerned that by including this LV RT VI your startup VI no longer runs, I believe your question is in regards to changing the startup VI you have downloaded to your CVS system.

With a CVS, it is possible to download an application to the CVS such that it will run at start up. I am not aware of a standard start up application that resides on the CVS. It is possible that your CVS has had a startup VI on it that was affected by your recent changes. If you need to, you should be able to look in the startup directory of your CVS for any downloaded VIs. This can be found by FTPing into the CVS and going to directory NI-RT/STARTUP.

Let us know if you have any further problems with it.

Hai puradchi,

Just download the needed application from LabView into CVS again. The problem should be all right. Before that,if u have made any software updates(like latest RT ,etc.,) in your PC, then reinstall all the softwares in CVS before downloading your application into CVS for the problem could arise due to that also.
