Hello forum,
Does anyone know of a driver that gets you 800mbps with an AVT (pike) camera on a vista 64 bit system? The AVT firepackage doesn't seem to be compatable with NI (i.e. when you load the firepackage, NI can no longer load the camera.)
thank you,
veritas

Hi Veritas,
You are correct - AVT drivers cannot be installed if you're trying to use NI products as they interfere with our driver.
Assuming you have a Firewire B board, there shouldn't be any problem getting the maximum rate out of the camera that Firewire B allows.
What are you experiencing?

well, on this 64-bit vista system, I'm getting a native driver rate of 400mbps (the 800mbps option is not listed)... I know it can pass at 800, as I've seen with the XP sp1 work around by avt (bus package).
i'm just wondering if there is package that can work with 64-bit vista system, but not conflict with NI (as avt's firepackage does).

Sorry, Microsoft's 1394 drivers on Vista (which NI's drivers are layered on top of) are broken and don't support 800Mbit. Your best bet it to upgrade to Windows 7 where the drivers are finally fixed out-of-the-box.
